These animals captured the imaginations of Chinese potters as they sought to portray animals they had seen and others they could only imagine. Drawn from the Ringling's collection of Chinese ceramics, these animals will tickle your fancy with their stories, legends and vibrancy. Almost 100 objects will be presented, including dragons, butterflies, fish and phoenix.

Children and adults compete in various categories for cash prizes. This free event is co-sponsored by Sarasota County and the Pelican Press. Registration begins at 8:30a.m, with sculpting lasting until 1p.m.
